There are many high-tech and modern devices working around us that brought much convenience to our daily life, such as the vehicles and various kinds of household appliances. But they would break down if they are not taken good care of during their long service time. So it is important to maintain your devices to prolong their working time. So does your metal detector. If you take good care of your metal detector and maintain it regularly, it can work more effective and serve you for a longer time. The tips on maintaining your metal detector properly are as following.
First of all, metal detector ought to be used outdoors. You should not use it indoors because there are many household appliances working indoors which will influence the working system of the metal detector. Being surrounded by the metal immediately would destroy the accessories in the metal detector.
Secondly, your metal detector should always be cleaned carefully. If you go to the beach to hunt for metal, there would be sand hidden in your metal detector. If you go to the wood to try your luck, there would be leaves or even insects hidden in your metal detector after you putting your metal detector back to it box. And the hidden leaves or insects would do harm to your metal detector as the time goes by. So accumulated dirt and other fine particles at the bottom of the metal detector should be removed. The main unit must be cleaned with hot water less than 40 degrees centigrade with mild detergent and non-abrasive cloth. The conveyor belt must also be cleaned gently with a neutral detergent and plastic brush. No need for a specialized cleaning agents or solutions.
Thirdly, Search Coil must be protected – it is the metal detecting part of the detector, and the most prone to damage. The best way to protect it is with a search coil covers. These are plastics, and they don’t interfere with the detection signal. These are inexpensive protections that will surely prolong the life of the metal detector.
The last but not the least is that you should give your metal detector proper storage. You ought to use and store the metal detector only in normal temperature environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of the equipment and distort plastic parts. Batteries must also be removed when not in use to ensure that no leaking or corrosion occurs. In this way, the battery is under proper prospection. So it can be used for a longer time and every time it is fully charged, the battery can last longer.
Every metal detectorist should read the user manual carefully before you go for a metal detecting trip. More information about metal detecting you can find on: www.detectorall.com
